After six months of waiting - for us, and of filming for the actors - since the special episode Last Christmas, the BBC revealed the official trailer for Doctor Who's Series 9, starring Peter Capaldi (The Doctor) and Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) for a second full series. 90 seconds of new characters, returns and surprises, in the order.

19''. New characters, new monsters. Metal soldiers (not Cybermen), hands coming from the ground, a guy with dark eyes ... it looks like the Doctor hasn't seen everything in the universe.

23''. We are (almost) sure that the greatest enemies of the Doctor, the Daleks, will be part of the ninth series. Unless the video would show the back of Rusty, a "good" Dalek appeared in Into The Dalek.

25'' New characters with two heads in one, wearing a Chinese hat. An other one three seconds later, more human.

30''. Missy is back. Revealed as the woman version of the Master in Dark Water/Death In Heaven, we ignore if this character played by Michelle Gomez will fight with or against the Doctor and Clara.

38''. Apparently an alien city. An other view at 51''.

40''. A man in a cave. Are we back in Karn, the planet where the 8th Doctor (Paul Mc Gann) became the War Doctor (John Hurt) in The Night Of The Doctor? We're not sure.

43''. Not surprising that Clara Oswald still travels with the Doctor in the TARDIS. But notice the orange spacesuit weared by the Doctor in The Waters of Mars (with David Tennant), Hide (with Matt Smith) and Kill The Moon (with Capaldi).

50''. Friend or enemy? He has similar eyes as the guy at 19''.

53'' The 12th Doctor hugging Clara, it's rare. But we love it.

55''. A little girl kidnapped by a Zygon. Oh, you probably discovered Zygons in The Day Of The Doctor, but we think they forget to be good after saving London.

57''. The coolest moment of the trailer: the Doctor plays electric guitar in the TARDIS. Electric guitars are cool. Capaldi, you rock.

64''. "I'm the Doctor, and I save people." Saving the universe by wearing sunglasses is cool, doesn't it, Matt Smith?

79''. "What took you so long, old man?" The most waited moment for Series 9. We discover finally Maisie Williams, starred as Arya Stark in HBO's Game Of Thrones, in her mysterious role in Doctor Who's double episode The Girl Who Died/The Woman Who Lived.
According to the video's comments about Williams' words, she could play Jenny, appeared in The Doctor's Daughter where she promised to find the Doctor again, with a new face. Or, better, Susan Foreman, the Doctor's granddaughter - after a regeneration - who appeared in Doctor Who's all first episode An Unearthly Child, broadcast in 1963. If Maisie Williams plays a Time Lord, she could be Jenny or Susan. Or someone else?

Take a sticky note, sonic screwdriver and TARDIS fans, a remember this date: Saturday, September 19. Series 9 will start with The Magician's Apprentice, whose we are waiting the teaser. By the way, a tenth series has been confirmed on July 14th. Ready, time travellers?

In January 2014, the twelfth Doctor Peter Capladi begins the filming of the Series 8 of Doctor Who with Jenna Coleman. About five months later, the BBC revealed a first 15-second teaser trailer with Capaldi in the TARDIS, like the picture above.

As you know, the first episodes of Series 8 will be broadcast in August. Who says new series says new characters ; the Doctor and Clara Oswald are naturally here. We also learnt in January that Neve McIntosh (Madame Vastra, with Strax and Jenny) will be back for the series.

On February 24, Samuel Anderson has been announced as reccurent character Danny Pink, a teacher and a colleague of Clara at Coal Hill School (school we saw in "The Day Of The Doctor"). The next month, Keeley Hawes is cast as Ms Delphox for episode 5. Then, the BBC announced Tom Riley, Ben Miller, Hermione Norris and Frank Skinner in guest roles.

But the first teaser revealed by the BBC doesn't show all these characters. So we have to wait a second trailer to discover a bit who they are and who they play.

On May 24, YouTube user "John Smith", known for the video "WHOLOCK - Sherlock meets the Doctor", unveiled a fan 'Rain' Trailer he made for Series 8. We can see the TARDIS, arriving on a planet where it's raining ; the Doctor and Clara Oswald go outside the TARDIS, and watch a mountain with a moon in background. The video has been viewed about 300,000 times in four days.

Still in the fan trailers, user SupremePyroViper revealed on May 25 a trailer using BBC and John Smith videos, plus moments of "The Day of the Doctor" and "The Time of the Doctor". You can watch the video here : youtube.com/watch?v=MJZYaxWZb5g.

"It started." Filming for Series 8 of 'Doctor Who' has begun today. A great day for Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald) and Peter Capaldi who is now the Doctor.

In "The Time of the Doctor" (broadcast on December 25 and watched by around 10.2 million fans) we saw Doctor's 13th regeneration and the first 30 seconds of Capaldi on the series. "Kidneys ! I've got new kidneys ! I don't like the color. [...] Do you happen to know how to fly this thing ?" A funny sentence as the Eleventh made with his "And still not ginger !".

Filming for Series 8 begins today in Cardiff Studios, and first picture shows Capaldi with Eleventh's clothes, apparently for preparing a scene of the first episode (written by Steven Moffat) where the Doctor and Clara, both in the TARDIS, are crashing. Other pictures posted on Twitter revealed that Neve McIntosh (Madame Vastra), Catrin Stewart (Jenny) and Dan Starkey (Strax) are also in filming. By the way they will appear in the first episode.

"New job, first day, slightly nervous", Peter Capaldi said. "Just like the Doctor, I'm emerging from the TARDIS into a whole other world."

The Series 8 whose Doctor Who fans wait would contain 13 episodes and would be broadcast in the second half of 2014, according to Steven Moffat. A long wait before we'll know more infos about the episodes, but we already know the new goal of the Doctor : come back to Gallifrey ...

Goodbye Matt Smith, hello Peter Capaldi. Doctor Who's 2013 Christmas special "The Time of the Doctor" was broadcast on BBC One at 7:30 PM (London Time). Matt Smith was on his last episode as the Doctor, and what better than Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) to finish the special ?

The plot is already on Wikipedia. Don't read it if you didn't watch the special. For fans who watched it, you certainly retained the highlights.

First, the Doctor was ... naked. Even if we see he wore clothes at Oswald's house and in Tasha's church. Strange and funny moment between the Doctor and Clara, same thing in "Journey's End" when the other Tenth Doctor was naked in front of Donna Noble, remember ? "You're naked ! - Yes !"

Second, a town called Christmas. Certainly because the episode was broadcast on Chirstmas Day. "How can an Isle be called Easter ?"
But a town called Christmas in a planet called Trenzalore. If you understand, the Doctor and Clara come to Trenzalore a second time, but years before they see graves and the giant TARDIS and before they killed the Great Intelligence ("The Name of the Doctor"). That's why the Doctor managed to land the TARDIS on the planet. At this period (probably) the Doctor's timeline didn't exist yet.

Third, the crack of Amelia's wall is back. It appeared on several episodes, first time in "The Eleventh Hour". Actually, the Time Lords use this crack in the universe, to demand help to the Doctor, and this from the pocket universe in which Gallifrey was trapped (created by the 13 Doctors in "The Day of the Doctor"). And it is from the crack that a message comes : "Doctor who ?" You know the story : if the Doctor answers the question, Time Lords will be saved, but a new war will be born, in which the Doctor will die. Instead of this, Time Lords give to the Doctor a new cycle of 12 regenerations through the crack. So 24 regenerations available in all, so 25 Doctors.

And fourth, the surprise by Steven Moffat. We had Tom Baker (the Fourth Doctor) as the Curator in "The Day of the Doctor", now we have for (only) twenty seconds Karen Gillan as Amelia Pond, before the Doctor's regeneration. "Raggedy man ... goodnight.", she said.

Now we have to wait several months before watching the eighth series, planned for late summer/autumn 2014. We are sure that the first episode of this series will be written by Steven Moffat, and that the beginning of it will be probably the moment where the Doctor and Clara are in the TARDIS, crashing ...
Last thing. First words of the 12th Doctor : "Kidneys ! I've got new kidneys ! I don't like the color." First appearance and first funny sentence. Do you think that this new Doctor will be great ?
